- What is DUStat?
DUStat is a utility that provides an accurate account of the data which is flowing through your computer's network connection at any given moment. This readout is presented in both numerical and graphical format, in real time.
- Why should I use DUStat?
There are many reasons why you might want to monitor your network activity. Watching your data transfer rates can be very enlightening as you download a web page, email, or a software application. This will give you a much better idea of how long the operation will take. It will also let you know how efficient your Internet connection is. And it can alert you of dangerous or unexpected network activity.
If you are trying to improve your performance over the Internet and you are going to spend some time optimizing your configuration for maximum download speeds, it's critical that you accurately monitor your download speeds or data transfer rates so you can compare them at various settings.
- How do I monitor a connection?
Right click on DUStat window or tray icon and choose options. Here you can choose the network interface you want to monitor. Click 'Ok' and DUStat will start monitoring the network.
- Does DUStat provide statistics about my network?
Of course, right click on the DUStat window or tray icon and choose "Statistics". Here you can view for both download and upload the total bandwidth, average per hour, most and least active hour in the last 24 hours.
- What does the graph mean, how do I read it?
The graph updates every second and made out of two lines that represent the upload and download bandwidth. Green line represents the download bandwidth (Green like grass) and the blue line represents the upload bandwidth (Blue like the sky). There is also a numeric indication about the current download/upload bandwidth use.
- Does DUStat cost anything?
No it does not.
